Minutes of Asselby Parish Council meeting held at the Black Swan, Asselby on Thursday 9th January 2025.

 

Present: R. Pickersgill, Gary Franklin, Michael Clarke and P. Adams (clerk).

Apologies: Amanda Macchi and Darren Walker

  1. Minutes of last meeting were agreed signed off
  2. No declarations of interest

 

1.Matters arising

  1. Village walkabout (RP) – it was discussed that the parish council was going to resurrect the village walkabout following ERYC cancellation. Date to be agreed at next meeting.
  2.  VE day (RP) – discussion was held on whether to mark this occasion but following lack of attendance at anniversary of D day and the fact that Howden Vintage day is on <May 8th it was decided not to do anything. Any enquiries should be directed to HVD.
  3.  Litter picking and bags (RP) – clarification was given around what these were. A liiter pick team had left them for collection and this had taken place.
  4. Goole hospital (RP) – discussion around the proposed changes and that council will closely follow and support any action to ensure continuity.
  5. Howden update (RP)- asked councillor Clarke if he would provide a regular update from HTC. MC agreed to do this at each forthcoming meeting.
  6. Update operating procedures (PA)- clerk suggested revisiting and confirming operating procedures so these can show current dates on new website.  All agreed
  7. Precept 25/26 (PA)- clerk suggested an uplift £366 for this year taking the claim to £7000. Details around year to date expenditure was given with a forecast outrun of £400. Savings had been made in year allowing for this smaller increase.  All agreed. Clerk to submit by deadline of 17th January.

     2. Accounts

     a. PA gave financial statement regarding current account holdings in the precept discussion.  Current balance of £6115-70

  1. Barmby School choir to be requested for Saturday 29th November (PA)
  2. PA raised need for vice chair position to be filled. Clerk to contact councillors for progress.
