Minutes of council meeting held on Thursday 16th July 2026

Apologies for Absence

To confirm minutes of the meetings held-on 7th May  2026- minutes for both AGM and OGM were verified and signed off as accurate.

Declaration of any interests. None received

 

3. Matters Arising

a. Councillor resignation and possible applications to take place- discussion was held around this and PA has been asked to contact electoral services at ERYC to expedite the process of replacement.

b. Discussion around PC meeting venue (DW). The guidance around use of licensed premises was had and reference made to regulations around suitable and free of cost venues available.  It was felt that meeting in Howden would disadvantage members of the public if they wished to attend and would incur a cost or approximately £360 per annum.

c. Update on Back Lane planning application (RP)- it was noted that this application has now been withdrawn so no further discussion needed as yet.

 

Accounts

HSBC – PFO reported a balance of £3293-42

Expenses this month – none

AGAR forms were signed off after discussion and auditing by accountant had been completed. A note offering the public opportunity to view accounts will be published on social media.

 

Planning matters

None received

 

Any Other Business _ DW raised the possibility of getting a site box for council materials placed on the carpark. DW to investigate costs.

RP raised the issues of bare tar showing through the road surface on Back Lane. PA to investigate feasibility of some grit being delivered, legality of persons adding grit to a public highway and siting of said grit stone.
